SHIPSHEWANA, INDIANA – K-Z announced that it recently broke ground on a new $4.8 million, 80,750 square-foot lamination expansion project, to keep up with lightweight product demands. “Our lamination facility is expected to create up to 125 new jobs by 2017,” remarked Aram Koltookian, K-Z chief operating officer. “In addition to lamination, the new plant, located in the heart of our production complex, will support aluminum welding and small part assembly for multiple plants.” Production is expected to be operational by late spring, 2015.
“The K-Z complex presently covers 530,000 square feet, but we’ve simply outgrown our production capabilities and need to expand to meet the current demand,” Koltookian continued. “This new facility will give us more room to grow, provide a state-of-the-art climate controlled environment for lamination, and allow us to maintain the high standards of quality people have come to expect from K-Z.”
